CRUNCHYROLL Announces 3 Films Coming to Theaters

Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle

Sandwiched within the original anime series, Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle picks up the story of Hinata and Kageyama’s burgeoning duo as they face off against their rival, Nekoma High. 

Characters will be those met in the original series. From Nekoma High, star players Kuroo and Kenma will face against Karasuno’s squad.

Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle will be in North American theaters on May 31, 2024. It will premiere in both Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English. Having opened in Japan on February 16, the film has earned approximately $57 million as of March 29.

The original story, written by Haruichi Furudate, is directed by Susumu Mitsunaka. The first four seasons can be streamed on Crunchyroll.

OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom

When Momonga logs into his favorite MMORPG game after 12 years of playing, it is to say goodbye. However, his life is set to change. He is transported into the fantasy world, where he rules over his land. In OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom, fans pick up right after season four of Overlord.

According to the official film synopsis for OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom, the story will follow Momonga, known as Sorcerer King Ains Ooal Gown, as he stops an invasion. He will join The Sacred Kingdom and the Slane Theocracy to defeat the demi-human army led by the Demon Emperor.

The series was originally a web novel written by Kugane Maruyama. Now, four seasons of Overlord can be found on Crunchyroll, alongside two films that recap the first season.

The dates have yet to be announced for theatrical release.

BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI-

The first film for the sports anime series, BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI- will be in North American theaters starting June 28. 

It will serve as a side story to the main series, which is centered around a soccer team and a star’s hidden talent for the sport.

Nagi Seishiro’s life was once dull, but when a classmate discovered his talent for soccer, his life was changed. Suddenly, he found himself part of the BLUE LOCK Project. The prodigy was surrounded by the most talented players and he and his classmate now take on the challenge of becoming the best players possible.

The first season of BLUE LOCK is on Crunchyroll.
