Wizards of the Coast and Critical Role are back together to bring us the very first major adventure module within the World of Exandria. Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep is building on the success of Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount and giving Critters around the world the chance to take their games into the iconic worlds of some of our favorite adventurers.
Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep features seven chapters of gripping adventure, new creatures and magic items, a poster map of Ank’Harel and introduces new rival NCPs for players to interact with. The adventure takes place on the continent of Marquet, the upcoming setting for Critical Role‘s third campaign. It begins in the Wastes of Xhorhas and leads adventurers to the glimmering oasis-city of Ank’Harel. This will lead them to the sunken realm of gloom, corruption and sorrow known as the Netherdeep. The terrifying cross between the Far Realm and the deep ocean.

Players will uncover that the greed of mortals has awakened a powerful entity long thought destroyed. He was once a mighty champion of the gods. But, he has been imprisoned in the darkest depths of Exandria for eons. His name and heroic deeds are long forgotten. Now, as he languishes in despair, he calls out for new heroes to save him. This adventure is bursting with lore and perfect for characters level 3 – 12. Fans of Critical Role will also find that many of the elements within the storyline tie to previous Critical Role campaigns!
Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep was written by Matt Mercer, James Haeck and Chris Perkins. Mercer shared, “Working with such a talented team to develop and craft a tale like this is an absolute honor, and I cannot wait for folks to step into the unique mysteries and dark challenges that Call of the Netherdeep invites.” As a player who has longed to explore the world of Exandria on my own, this is the perfect adventure book! I am hopeful that Wizards of the Coast and Critical Role will continue to work together to bring us even more adventures.
