The third campaign of Critical Role is just a few days away and to help fan the flames of excitement, the crew released a new video giving us a look at the brand new set! And I don’t know how they manage to do it, but these guys just continue to blow me away time after time. The new set has been named the Tavern of Tales and it really fits.

The crew worked with Critter, artist and theme park designer Shaun Ellis, Holly Hodges and Flip This Bitch to help bring these visions to life. Matt Mercer, Marisha Ray and Taliesin Jaffe go into great detail on how the team worked alongside not only Ellis and Hodges to build a set. It needed to work for the players and look good for the audience and has all of these special-effect details that will allow them to take their storytelling to the next level. And this set really is phenomenal what they have been able to do.
It was exciting to be able to see how the rest of the cast, Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, Liam O’Brien, Ashley Johnson and Sam Riegel, reacted to the first unveiling of the studio. Those who have watched Critical Role‘s growth from the stage of Geek and Sundry’s Twitch channel set to having their very own to now is so emotional. They have achieved so much since it was initially released in 2015 and watching them grow as players and their own company is so inspiring.
We are excited to see just what this set will be able to do when campaign three of Critical Role drops on Thursday, October 21, 2021, on their Twitch channel. This new campaign brings new characters, a new setting on the continent of Marquet and now a brand new set! We’ve linked the video below so you can get teary-eyed with us!
