The Crisis on Infinite Earths claimed many lives in part one. The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) sent Harbinger (Audrey Marie Anderson) out to gather the mulitverse’s stronget heroes.  They did their best to save Earth-38, but were only able to save 3 billion.  Unfortunately, it cost them the life of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell).

The team mourns Oliver, but some aren’t ready to say goodbye to the Green Arrow.  Kara (Melissa Benoist) thinks there has to be a way to bring everyone back, but Sara (Caity Lotz) says they need to focus on stopping the Crisis.  Lyla arrives, saying she left Diggle (David Ramsey) at home with JJ.  She didn’t tell Diggle about Oliver’s death because she didn’t know what to say.

The Monitor is ready to move on as well.  He asks Ray (Brandon Routh) for use of the wave rider, but the Legends are still on board. Sara promised them that they wouldn’t have to participate in another crossover.  Lyla says they don’t need the team, they need Ray’s lab.  And there are other wave riders in the Multiverse.

Lyla goes to Earth-74 and is greeted by the voice of Leonard…as in Snart (Wentworth Miller).  The Legends of Earth-74 retired and abandoned the wave rider. She discovers Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) is living on the wave rider, but Leonard reveals that Mick is trying to become a romance novelists.  Lyla offers Mick a lot of beer in exchange for use of the wave rider.  Of course he accepts.

Mick joins the team and ends up being the babysitter.  Jonathan is very comfortable with Mick.  The Monitor informs the team that there are seven paragons that can stop the Crisis.  He discovered them in the Book of Destiny.  Hold On! That book was destroyed in Elseworlds.  It turns out the Monitor has the ability to go back in time and that’s how he got the book.  He is keeping the book in the wave rider library.

This leads to lots of questions. For starters, can the book bring back the destroyed earths?  More importantly, can it bring back Oliver? The Monitor says Oliver was destined to die anyway. And if he had the power, bringing back the destroyed Earths could cause chaos.   The Monitor’s power is waning as the Anti-Monitor grows stronger.  That’s why they need to find the seven paragons.

The Monitor has the names of two of the heroes, Kara Zor-El, the Paragon of Hope. And Sara Lance is the Paragon of Destiny.  He discoverd the descriptions of two more paragons.  The Paragon of Truth, a Kryptonian who has suffered more loss than any mortal man can withstand.  The Paragon of Courage is known as Bat of the future.  He uncovered these four with help from Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) who earned the wisdom of the second book, The Tome of the Guardians.

Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) volunteer to find the second Kryptonian.  And for the Bats, the team has to travel to Earth-99 where Bruce Wayne is.  It is a planet set in the future.  Ray is surprised to find out that Bruce Wayne is the Batman.  Kate (Ruby Rose) asks him to keep that information quiet. The path to find him will lead them to the Paragon of Courage.  So naturally, Kate will lead that mission.

Kara is still very upset about losing Earth-38.  Things get worse when she finds out that Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) is alive.  The Monitor says he brought Luthor back because he has a part to play.  Kara decides she can’t trust anyone who considers Lex Luthor as an ally.

Kate overheard everything.  She introduces herself as new and unfriendly to Lex then checks on Karan.  Kara thinks it’s unfair that a lot of innocent people died on Earth-38 and Lex lives.  Kate understands. She informs Kara that she’s dealing with her twin sister who killed her step-mother and framed her dad for it. She’s fighting to make it right.  Finding the fourth paragon might give her that chance.  She asks Kara to go with her to Earth-99.

Lyla hears voices in her head telling her to stop him before he finds the book.  She rushes to the library and finds Lex with the Book of Destiny.  He intends on killing all of the Supermans in the universe.  Lex disappears through a breach as the Monitor walks in.  He’s not too concerned though.  He says everyone has a part to play.

Barry (Grant Gustin) is reunited with Iris (Candice Patton).  Iris is sad about Oliver, but mentions that the Monitor was wrong about his death. So maybe he was wrong about Barry’s death too.  Barry is focused on bringing Oliver back to life. Oliver told him about the Lazarus Pits.  The pits of Earth-1 are gone, but there are other Earths they can find one on.  Iris starts to protest, but Barry says Oliver can’t be dead.   Iris says okay and tells im about her mission to help find the hopeless Kryptonian paragon.

Sara catches up with Mia (Katherine McNamara) who is teaming up with Barry to bring Oliver back to life.  Sara advises against it, but Mia says Nyssa Al-Ghul told her everything she needs to know about the Lazarus Pit.  And about Sara.  Sara basically tells Mia to keep her opinion to herself.  Mia tells her to do the same about her dad.

Is Batman of the Future a paragon in Crisis on Infinite Earths?

Kara and Kate arrive at Wayne Manor and are greeted by a very buff Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson).  Kate introduces herself as Bruce’s cousin.  Luke says no and shuts the door in her face.  Kara asks if that’s a villian and Kate says it’s her only friend.  Things get awkward when Kara says Luke is cute.

Kara breaks down the door and they are met by Luke with a gun.  They hear someone come down the stairs.  It’s Bruce Wayne (Kevin Conroy), in a full body mechanical brace. The cousins are surprised to see each other.  Luke takes Kara to the library while Bruce and Kate go to a lounge.  He tells her that his cousin Kate died five years ago.  He asks who she is.  Kate tells him to sit down for this one.

Bruce doesn’t exactly believe Kate’s story.  He laughs when she say she’s the Paragon of Courage.  This Batman is actually evil.  He shows her a newspaper with the headline, “Batman’s Reign of Terror over.  Bruce says a wise man once said, battle not with monsters, lest you become a monster.  He lost track of how many people he killed.

Bruce gets emotional saying his Kate put on the cape. She thought she’d succeed where he failed. And that got her killed. Kate tells him that he’s needed. She’s giving him the chance to be a hero again.

Meanwhile, Kara scopes out the library while talking to Luke.  She finds a case of mementos of Batman’s greatest victories. It’s actually a trophy case of those he killed.  She finds Clark’s glasses. Luke confirms the glasses belong to Superman’s alter ego.  Kara is shocked to disvoer that Bruce killed superman. That’s why he’s in the mechanical brace.

Sara enlists the help of one John Constantine (Matt Ryan) to bring back Oliver.  He uses a spell to locate the available Lazarus Pits left in the Multiverse. He finds one. Barry and Mia prepare to leave. Sara makes Constantine promise that he can bring back Oliver’s soul.

Barry, Mia, Sara and Constantine find the pit.  Sara tries to talk to Mia one last time about turningback, but Mia has made up her mind.  Jonah Hex (Johnathan Schaech), with no scar, finds them in the mine. He says it’s off limits, but they can come to an arrangement.  He touches Mia’s face and she fights him off. Sara helps, eventually grabbing Jonah Hex and holding a knife to his face.  She says he would have gotten the scar anyway and cuts him.  He passes out just as Barry and Constantine return with Oliver’s body.

They lower Oliver into the water and wait.

Tom Welling Guest Star in Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 2

Iris contacts Lois and tells her about Lex Luthor. He’s still alive and looking for Superman of other Earths to kill. They are in a race against Lex to find the Paragon.  They continue their search fo Earth-75 Superman and see the news on a billboard.  Lois is crying over Superman’s body. Lex beat them to that Superman.

They go to Earth-167…Smallville.  Iris joins them and they approach Clark Kent (Tom Welling) while he’s chopping wood.  Earth-38 Clark says he can break the wood with his bare hands and asks if the man is really Clark Kent. Iris starts rambling about the Crisis on Infinite Earths when Lois interrupts, telling him that Lex Luthor is going to kill him.  This Clark doesn’t seem too concerned.  He says he didn’t know the President was in town.

Earth-38’s Lex Luthor makes Lois, Clark and Iris disappear.  Lex starts going on about how Superman is his greatest enemy on any Earth, but Clark insists he’s a regular guy. When Lex pulls out the Kryptonite, it does nothing to this Clark.  This Clark gave up his powers to have a family.  That takes all of the fun out of killing him, so Lex leaves.   Lois (Erica Durance) comes out to get Clark. She wants to show him something that his daughters did.

Lois, Iris and Clark find another version of Clark Kent (Routh) who looks like Ray Palmer on Earth-96.  They ask to talk to him in private about Lex Luthor.  Clark isn’t too concerned about Lex.  Earth-38 Clark says Lex has changed the game with the Book of Destiny.

This Clark is the Editor-In-Chief of the Daily Planet. And he isn’t too worried about Lex Luthor.  This isn’t his first go round with Lex Luthor.  Lois finds a bunch of names on Clark’s wall.  Clark explains that a reject from Gotham thought that they weren’t covering his stories enough so he gassed the Daily Planet. Everyone died but Clark. Almost as if he’s been through more loss than any mortal man can endure.

This version of Superman is the Paragon of Truth. They ask him to return with them to fight the Crisis.  Kingdom Come Superman agrees to join the team.  Not so Fast! Lex Luthor appears out of nowhere with the book in hand.

Kingdom Come Superman prepares for battle on Crisis on Infinite Earths part 2

Lex says he’s moved on from killing Superman.  He opens the book and says it’s more fun to watch Superman kill Superman.  Kingdom Come Superman gets angry and says he doesn’t care about their universe. Not after he lost everything.  Lois tries to get through to him sayign he’s the Paragon of Truth.  Kingdom Come Superman proclaims that he serves Lex Luthor and attacks Earth-38 Superman.

The two Supermans fly around Metropolis, fighting.  KC Supermanturns on Iris and Lois, saying he’s going to show Superman-38 what it feels lke to lose the ones he loves.  Lex is enjoying the show too much and doesn’t ntoice Lois behind him. She knocks him out and takes the book.  She and Iris open the book, but they can’t make KC Superman stop trying to kill Superman-38

Iris says it’s like Lex turn all of KC Superman’s love into hate.  Lois tries to reach him by saying this isn’t the man who Perry White and Jimmy Olsen respect or the man that Lois loved. He needs to remember who he is.  KC Superman snaps out of it.  They take the book and Lex back to the wave rider.

Kate tries to convince Bruce to return with her but he has no hope in his world.  Supergirl finds them and tells Kate that Bruce killed Superman.  Bruce doesn’t deny, in fact, he’s quite proud of it.  Bruce attacks Supergirl.  he has a little bit of Kryptoite in on his wrist.

Kate helps Supergirl to her feet.  Bruce says his Kate didn’t trust anyone, espeically a Kryptonian.  He also says his universe isn’t worth saving in any universe. Kate says if he believes that, then he has to kill her. He punches at Supergirl, but Kate stops him and pushes hims into a generator.  The generator electrocutes him. Bruce tells Kate is that there is no hope before dying.

Oliver is taking too long to resurrect.  Mia and Barry are ready to give up when he jumps out of the pit.  Barry saves Constantine from getting hit by Oliver.  Oliver looks at Mia. She calls him ‘Dad’.  Oliver doesn’t respond. Sara tranquilizes him, saying that’s not Oliver until they get his soul back.

They lay Oliver on a sigil and Constantine tries to work his magic.  The antimatter in the system is blocking his magical mojo. Barry is worried that Oliver will be a monster forever.

Ray meets Kingdom Come Clark Kent.  Mick gives Jonathan to Lois and she introdues him to the new Clark.  The Monitor arrives, happy that they found the Paragon of Truth. Kara and Kate arrive. Kara is upset with the Monitor’s tactics that caused Lex to hurt a lot of people. They only have three paragons, so the Monitor was wrong.

She finally sees Kingdom Come Clark Kent and mistakes him for Ray.  Clark Kent-38 corrects her.  Kate tells them that Batman tried to kill Kara and how he’s dead.  The Montior isn’t worried. Ray’s Paragon detector is ready. When he turns it on, it indicates the Paragon of Courage is aboard the wave rider.  It’s Kate.  He said the path to Earthh-99 would lead them to the paragon.  And Kate is the Bat of the Future.

Kate questions how she’s a paragon and Kara reminds her of how awesome she is.  She works hard, cares a lot. Kate is a true hero.  She may not have the experience, but she has the heart. Kara says Kate is the bravest person she knows.  Kate is worried that she will turn out like Bruce.  Kara says she won’t, she will make her own destiny.   She gives Kate a picture of her and Beth from Earth-99.  They look happy.

Kara says she’s going to bring back Earth-38. She wants to use the Book of Destiny to do it.  Kate warns her that the Monitor said it was dangerous.  Kara knows, but what good is it to be the Paragon of Hope if she doesn’t have any.  Kara walks away and Kate pulls out a small disk, full of Kryptonite out of her pocket.

Lyla is still hearing the voices.  They tell her it’s time.  She is transported to STAR Labs where the Anti-Monitor is waiing for her. He says he needs her.  The Anti-Monitor is growing stronger as the Monitor grows weak. He tells her that there is work to be done.

Pariah (Tom Cavanagh) enlists Black Lightning (guest star Cress Williams) to help stop the Anti-Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett) after Flash-90 (guest star John Wesley Shipp) shares what he learned from his battle in ‘Elseworlds.’  With the help of Black Lightning, Barry, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) come up with a plan that could save them all. Meanwhile, Iris has a heart-to-heart with Ryan Choi (guest star Osric Chau), while Oliver and Diggle return to an old familiar stomping ground.
