Yoko Kanno will bring the music to Cowboy Bebop live-action series on Netflix.

Day two of Netflix’s Geeked Week has me squealing like I’m eight years old again. One of the most influential pieces of media for me has been Cowboy Bebop. It was my introduction to anime and gave me a whole new world of space fantasy I never knew I needed. So I, along with the rest of the world, have been patiently waiting for Netflix to give us any information on this live-action adaptation. And today we got some exciting news!

While it isn’t a trailer per se, we did learn that Yoko Kanno‘s iconic music will be featured in the series. For those who haven’t been blessed with the original anime, you have quite a lot to look forward to. This Cowboy Bebop wouldn’t be a true adaptation without her included. One of the draws of the anime was the outstanding jazz music that brought each episode to life. Seriously, if you haven’t listened to the soundtrack, I highly suggest it. You can find it on Spotify right here!

The live-action Cowboy Bebop series stars John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, Alex Hassell as Vicious and Elena Satine as Julia. It is set to release sometime this upcoming fall. Check out the announcement video below! How excited are you to get the chance to let Kanno’s tunes tickle your eardrums?
