After patiently waiting for what seems like forever, Netflix has finally shared the official trailer for Cowboy Bebop during a special even today. And boy, is it amazing. The live-action adaptation of the beloved 90s anime sure has blown us out of the water. I remember feeling a bit skeptical when it was first announced, but everything they have shared has finally won me over. The series follows Spike Spiegal (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir) and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) as they go bounty hunting across the galaxy.

The event was hosted by Terri Schwartz and featured messages from the cast about how excited they were for the fans to finally get the chance to see the trailer. It was great getting to hear how honored Shakir felt to be a part of this world. Pineda was able to make it live and viewers were given a chance to hear in her own words how even newer fans of the series are going to love it. As the event went on, more levels were unlocked and more guests appeared, including Cho himself! It turns out that no, he didn’t have a ton of pizzas delivered to set. It must have been Ein who got them.
Of course, the Cowboy Bebop trailer would be to the sweet jazz tunes of Tank! by The Seatbelts and mixes the serious tones with the comedic side of the series. We get a brief glance into Spike’s past as he works to move on and join up with Jet and Faye. Even though throughout the trailer, he repeatedly wants to shoot her. I don’t think they could have hit every nostalgic moment from the series. And when the words “whatever happens happens” appeared on screen, I nearly cried. This is everything I have been waiting for and more.
Because the fans were able to unlock all five bounty tears, we were gifted another look at the series with the first look of Cowboy Bebop. And it did not disappoint. As Spike and Jet are on the hunt for a stolen dog, they find none other than Ein hiding out in a junkyard. It’s short but super cute and worth every moment! Alongside Cho, Shakir and Pineda Cowboy Bebop also stars Elena Satine (Julia) and Alex Hassell (Vicious).
Cowboy Bebop kicks off exclusively on Netflix starting November 19, 2021. Check out the trailer below, along with the live stream event! What do you think of the live-action adaptation so far? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
