What a Tuesday morning, fellow Cowboy Bebop fans! Netflix has finally given us our very first teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action series! And I have got to say that this does not disappoint. It gives us our authentic first look at John Cho as Spike, Mustafa Shakir as Jet and Daniella Pineda as Faye. And the moment Spike chose noodles before a bounty, I knew Netflix understood the assignment.

The Cowboy Bebop is simply titled “The Lost Session” and includes standalone footage not seen within the show. But this is a taste for what is to come! It kicks off with the classic opening Tank! theme song from The Seatbelts before Jet drops news to Spike that there is a new bounty out. Of course, Faye isn’t about to be left out and our bounty hunters set out to nab the bad guy. But in true Cowboy Bebop fashion, things go a bit sideways like noodles before bounties. And forgetting that a bullet in the face means you don’t get the money.

I really love the way they put this teaser for Cowboy Bebop together. It feels like a mashup between the iconic opening to the anime, where it feels like panels from a comic book mixed with the live-action. The way they move the bars around and we see that goofier side of the characters and show. It reminds me a lot of the lighthearted moments within the anime that counter the heavier tones that line the series. We do have a small heavy moment in the trailer when Vicious (Alex Hassell) speaks his first lines – and goosebumps for everyone. It makes me incredibly hopeful that this live-action series from Netflix will give us the best of both worlds.

Cowboy Bebop will air exclusively on Netflix starting November 19, 2021. Netflix also announced that we will be getting our first official trailer for the series next Tuesday, October 26, 2021, so be sure to check back in for that! We’ve dropped the teaser trailer below for you to enjoy! Are you noodles before bounty too? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
