SO THIS IS HOW THE COPS REACTED TO ANITA SARKEESIAN’S ONLINE RAPE THREATS

Well, this is horrifying. In yet another case of all the responsibility falling on the victim, Anita Sarkeesian tweeted about the reaction of the police after she was threatened with rape and violence and had her personal information posted online. All this for her series of videos Tropes vs. Women in Video Games. (Warning if you click on that link. The threats were terrible. Therefore, this is a TRIGGER WARNING.) She tweeted that she reported the threats that drove her from her home. Here is what she tweeted about the reaction.

On a personal note, as many of you know, lots of the journalists who’ve written in support of Anita have also been harassed. What you might not know, and are probably not surprised to hear is the constant refrain of “these are just some guys in a basement and not worth taking seriously.” Well, I, for one, do take it seriously. I’ve included the video below because I refuse to stop running it. It’s important.
