It’s a very sad day for superhero fans. The iconic and influential comic creator Stan Lee has passed away at the age of 95, THR reports.

Lee is best known for his creations with Marvel comics. He created (and co-created) numerous influential characters such as Black Panther, Spider-Man, X-Men, Thor, Iron Man, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, Ant-Man and many others. Lee became the face of Marvel for many years, continuing the trend in Marvel films and the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he made numerous joyful cameos.

Lee leaves behind two children and was predeceased by his wife Joan in the summer of 2017. Lee leaves behind heroes we’ve all been inspired by, learned from and adored. He was one of the most influential men in comics. One could look at the landscape of cinema for that last decade and see Stan Lee’s creativity in every corner. He may be gone, but because of his mighty impact in literature and film, our lives will continue to be enriched.

We here at Geek Girl Authority have been touched greatly by the loss and want to extend our condolences to his family. We encourage each of you imagine a world without Stan Lee’s fingerprint. There isn’t one, and that’s glorious. We’ll be able to share his creativity and joy with generations to come.  Stan Lee was not only a comic creator but a force of positivity. May you rest in peace, Mr. Stan Lee. Thank you for everything. EXCELSIOR!
