Clue is coming back, everyone! One of the most successful board games is getting another film adaptation over at Fox Studios. The murder-mystery board game that filled our hearts with the insatiable need to know whodunit has earned a Hollywood A-lister to the cast, THR reports. The question arises though – will it ever compete with the cult classic film of 1985?

Cludeo, or Clue as it’s known here in the States, is getting a second film adaptation. Ryan Reynolds will be bringing his star power to the rebooted film not only as a cast member but as a producer as well. He may also be reuniting with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick on the project, as they’re in talks to script the film. There’s currently no other information about the film outside of that but we did learn a little something. Clearly they want to make it another mystery comedy film, having the writers of the Deadpool films involved. Whether or not it will be another ensemble film, we’ll have to see. But chances are that if this gets off the ground, we’re in a for a lot of familiar faces in the cast.

That being said, I don’t know if it could ever hold a candle(stick) to the original film. The 1980s film was so fun and so memorable, it’s hard to picture anyone else capturing that same magic. In a film world plagued with reboots, I’ll give it a chance. Should the film go to production, it’ll be fun to see Professor Plum, Mrs. Peacock, Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White and Mr. Green on the big screen again. Frankly this news just makes me wanna play the game! But I have my fingers crossed that this will be another fun ride and not an eye-rolling disaster.

What do you think of the news? Are you excited at the possibility or are you so tired of reboots that you want to stay far away from movie theaters forever? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more news regarding this reboot. The Clue remake currently has no release date.
