John Krasinski is writing and will direct the sequel to his breakout horror hit, A Quiet Place.  He won’t be returning for the second movie… for obvious reasons that are spoilers.  But, Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) is in talks to join the cast for A Quiet Place 2.

Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are reprising their roles from the original movie.  Production is keeping a very tight lid on what role Murphy might play.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, their sources say Murphy’s role can be described as “a man with mysterious intentions who joins the family unit.”  That’s pretty cryptic, but it’s not nothing.  We can imagine Murphy happening upon a young family with an offer of ‘help.’  He has established himself as very adept at playing characters of ill repute while, somehow, staying entirely sympathetic.

The sequel to A Quiet Place is not yet titled, and has been slated for a May 15, 2020 theatrical release.  Shhh. It’s coming.
