Great Scott! The Hollywood Reporter reveals prolific actor Christopher Lloyd will travel to a galaxy far, far away for The Mandalorian Season 3! Details regarding the Back to the Future performer’s role are under lock and key, but THR reports it’s of the guest-starring variety. The Star Wars series currently films its third season in Southern California.
This isn’t the first time The Mandalorian brought a legendary sci-fi star into the fray. Season 2 featured Michael Biehn (The Terminator) as Lang in “Chapter 13: The Jedi.”
The Mandalorian premiered on Disney Plus’s launch day on November 12, 2019. It raked in impressive views, catapulting the streamer’s subscriber numbers into the stratosphere. Pedro Pascal stars as the titular bounty hunter, Din Djarin, who becomes entangled with Grogu, a.k.a. The Child, and travels across the galaxy to bring him home.

The Book of Boba Fett, which debuted on December 29, 2021, served as Disney Plus’s second live-action Star Wars series, also amassing many viewers. Starring Temuera Morrison as the eponymous bounty hunter and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, the show focuses on a new chapter for the criminal underbelly of Tatooine.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is slated for premiere on May 25 of this year and will undoubtedly be a boon for the mega-streamer. Ewan McGregor reprises his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi after 17 years. It follows Kenobi while observing young Luke Skywalker amid his exile on Tatooine.
Christopher Lloyd is no stranger to the world of sci-fi. He’s most known for portraying the eccentric time-traveling scientist Dr. Emmett Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy. Lloyd’s other genre credits include Star Trek III: The Search for Spock as Commander Kruge, Clue as Professor Plum, Who Framed Roger Rabbit as Judge Doom and The Addams Family and Addams Family Values as Uncle Fester.
I’m excited to see who the legendary actor will play in this universe! I have no doubt The Mandalorian Powers That Be will fully utilize his talents.
