Praise be to the Marvel gods! We learned from Variety that Chinaka Hodge has been tapped to serve as the head writer for Disney Plus’s Ironheart! It was announced in December for Disney Investor Day that actress Dominique Thorne will play the titular role.

Now, Ironheart tells the story of Riri Williams (Thorne), “a genius inventor and the creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.” Ironheart made its comic book debut in 2016 as the brainchild of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato. Williams is a 15-year-old MIT student who reverse engineers Tony Stark’s famous suit for a heroic look all her own.

Inevitably, Stark acknowledges her incredible engineering prowess and urges her to pursue a superhero career.
