Another one bites the dust. According to Variety, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina suffered from death by cancellation ax Wednesday night courtesy of Netflix. However, not all is lost. Part Four of the horror series is slated to air later this year. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa had this to say regarding the show’s cancellation:
Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honor from day one. The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone’s favorite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show. I’m also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television, and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can’t wait for everyone to see Part Four.
Now, Part Three aired on January 24th, 2020. When our favorite Greendale residents return, Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) will have to defeat the Eldritch Terrors as they descend upon the small town. Apparently, it will require the work of several covens to take down this particular threat. The witch war will eventually culminate to The Void a.k.a. The End of All Things. Sounds appropriately apocalyptic!
In addition, to soften the blow, the official Twitter account for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina released a slew of stills from the upcoming fourth and final season.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stars Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Ross Lynch, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Tati Gabrielle, Gavin Leatherwood, Michelle Gomez, Lachlan Watson, and Richard Coyle. Part Four will air in late 2020 on Netflix.
