If you haven’t signed up for DC Universe, you were just given another reason to join today. DC released it’s very first teaser for the live-action Swamp Thing and it is incredibly creepy but super exciting!

The teaser opens on a murky swamp in the middle of the bayou. The sun barely slithers through the dense forestation, giving you an uncomfortable feeling that you’ve turned the wrong way. The music lures you into a sense of unease as bubbles start to rise from the water. They get faster and bigger until something emerges. Something green and moss covered. Swamp Thing opens his red eyes and stares at us before it cuts away.

Swamp Thing looks INCREDIBLE! I wasn’t sure how they were going to pull off the look but man, they really nailed the makeup. He looks comic accurate and it makes me raise my hopes even further for this show. It’ll be interesting to see where they take this story. If this teaser tells us one thing, though, it’s that the bayou is not a safe place to be and we’re in for a lot of haunted imagery.

Check out the teaser for yourself and let us know what you think. Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more DC news. Swamp Thing will be produced by James Wan with Len Wiseman directing the pilot. Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman wrote the pilot episode and will also be producing. The show will star Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Crystal Reed, Will PattonVirginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott, Maria Sten, and Jennifer Beals

Swamp Thing stalks to screens on May 31st, 2019.
