Are you jonesing for another film where Charlize Theron plays a badass? That film is here, it’s called The Old Guard and Ms. Theron is ticking all the boxes we love.

Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Greg Rucka and  Leandro Fernández, and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, The Old Guard follows a tight-knit group of mercenaries that cannot be killed. Theron plays Andy, the leader of this band of characters who have been protecting the world for centuries. Andy is actually Andromache of Scythia who has died over and over again for millennia. Cool.

Netflix dropped the first full length trailer for The Old Guard today and it is action-packed from beginning to end. It starts with Andy explaining what she does to a new recruit named Nile (KiKi Layne) who didn’t know she had this ability. Then we see Andy and her mercenaries get gunned down. It’s pretty graphic. As they lay in a pool of blood, a guitar riff starts and then it’s off to the races in this super fun trailer as Andy and her crew ressurect, jump up and then Theron takes out an axe and goes to work. An axe! She plays badass so well.

In the rest of the trailer, we see The Old Guard finding it harder to hide in the world today because of technology. They are being chased by those who hope to weaponize these immortal warriors after capture. We see a lot of wonderfully choreographed fight scenes throughout the trailer as this army of five try to evade capture.

Check out the trailer and the poster below. We are all in! for The Old Guard boasts a talented cast with Chiwetel Ejiofor playing the bad guy (he does that so well! Serenity anyone?), and rounding out Andy’s team with Layne is Matthias Schoenaerts, Luca Marinelli, and Marwan Kenzari.

The Old Guard lands at Netflix on July 10.

Forever is harder than it looks. Led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron), a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it’s up to Andy and Nile (Kiki Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power by any means necessary. Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Greg Rucka and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (LOVE & BASKETBALL, BEYOND THE LIGHTS), THE OLD GUARD is a gritty, grounded, action-packed story that shows living forever is harder than it looks. Coming to Netflix on July 10.
