Dune Casting

THR is reporting that Chang Chen is in talks to join the cast of Dune. Director Denis Villeneuve has already assembled an amazing cast led by Timothee ChalametRebecca Ferguson, and Stellan Skarsgård.

Chen will play Dr. Wellington Yueh, the personal Suk physician to Duke Leto Atreides. Dr. Yueh went through Imperial conditioning that makes him incapable of harming anyone. He has a black diamond tattoo on his foreheads to indicate their conditioning. Don’t discount the doctor though, there’s so much more to his story.

Dune tells the story of a battle for power of the spice Melange, the one element that controls the entire universe. The noble family of House Atreides is sent to the desert planet Arrakis to oversee Spice production. The Emperor Shaddam IV and rival family House Harkonnen betray the Atreides family, destroying their house and leaving them for dead.

Dune also stars Oscar Isaac, Javier Bardem Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling,  Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, and Zendaya. Villeneuve co-wrote the script with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts. He will also serve as producer with Mary Parent, and Cale Boyter. Executive producers are Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Thomas Tull, and Kim Herbert for the Herbert family.

Dune will premiere in theaters on November 20, 2020.
