The brilliant folks at CBR had a sit down with Black Panther actor, Chadwick Boseman, to talk about him suiting up as the guardian of Wakanda, T’Challa, the Black Panther, for next year’s Captain America: Civil War.

It sounds like nothing is set in stone just yet with Boseman or the Panther as he said, “I think right now, it’s just going through the possibilities of what he can do. It’s a brainstorming phase, trying to figure out what it looks like… and what it should feel like in certain moments. But just going through [the material] because there’s always a difference between one story and the next.”
So, he’s doing his research, reading the comics, getting a feel for this character from the source material trying to figure out how best to bring that to the screen.
He then goes on to talk about what he thinks makes the Marvel films so great saying, “I think that’s always fun when these movies work: it’s when people see several things satisfied at one time. And I think that’s been the fun part so far.”
Possibly most exciting is when he talks about Wakanda and the differences in technology from when he was first introduced in the 60’s to now, saying, “…there are a lot of things in that time when it [Black Panther] was written that did not exist but do exist now, so trying to figure out how would that work now. How is it special now in terms of technology and whatever…”
Sounds to me like Wakanda will be treated as the technological, futuristic powerhouse on screen that it is in the comics. Just thinking about how Stark will react to the African nation and the marvels they have is worth the price of admission.
