23 Weeks of Trek begins August 6th. What does that mean? It means with Star Trek: Lower Decks premiering on the sixth and Star Trek: Discovery premiering October 15, 2020, fans will have 23 straight weeks of new Star Trek episodes! Celebration indeed. To keep the elation going at warp speed, CBS All Access released a fun, upbeat video giving viewers a taste of what is to come when the two shows air. The video has previously unseen footage from both series.
Star Trek: Lower Decks is launching their freshman season. The animated comedy series follows the support crew on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Follow Ensigns Mariner (Tawny Newsome), Boimler (Jack Quaid), Rutherford (Eugene Cordero) and Tendi (Noël Wells), who try to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.

Star Trek: Discovery is embarking on its third season. At the end of season two, Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Discovery were hurled far into the future by way of a wormhole. At last year’s Star Trek Universe panel at SDCC, we learned how far ahead they went – 1000 years. We also learned that Discovery did not land on Terralysium and the other side of the wormhole is not what we think. It’s “complicated.” Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the U.S.S. Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must together fight to regain a hopeful future and repair the Federation.
But if new Trek is not enough to sate you, remember that CBS All Access has plenty of old Trek to submerge yourself.
