We already know, thanks to Variety towards the end of last year, that Cate Blanchett is in talks to take a role in Thor: Ragnarok, which is scheduled to start shooting later this year in Australia. But we’ve never heard from the actress herself.
Until USA Today caught up with her in Palm Springs at their International Film Festival. Asked if she would sign on to do the film, her response was, “I would love that. I’d love to get fit and punch people.”
Attaching an actress of her calibre to this film, seeing her take on an iconic role like The Enchantress or Valkyrie would be amazing.
However, all this dreaming could be for naught as she also said at the same time — “I don’t know what I’m going to do, actually. After every film, you think: ‘OK, I’m done, I’m done now, that’s enough.’ “
If she’s going to do it, she better hurry up! The film goes into pre-production any day now to meet their June start date for shooting!
