Book readers, cinephiles, lovers of the thriller, horror and all things Stephen King unite!  Hulu’s new series Castle Rock is coming, it has a trailer, and it’s something we’ve never seen before!

Hulu describes the series as “a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.”  Which means, it’s new and simultaneously a part of things that we’ve already enjoyed.  It’s like a Stephen King Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead!  Any Tom Stoppard fans out there?  You’re welcome.

Castle Rock takes place in a fictional town; Castle Rock, Maine.  And, the trailer starts with André Holland‘s character saying he’s come back home because he ‘got a call from Shawshank’.  Yep, that Shawshank.  Who called him is a mystery, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to go well.  Bring it on!

The cast of this show alone should make you rush to see it.  There are a couple of familiar faces from the worlds of Stephen King, though they don’t seem to be playing characters related to their first King roles.  Castle Rock stars André Holland, Sissy Spacek (Carrie), Bill Skarsgård (It,  2017), Melanie Lynskey and Scott Glenn, to name a few.  It is executive produced by J.J. Abrams.
