Exciting news for A Series of Unfortunate Events fans! A phrase which here describes the revelation of several popular actors and actresses accepting roles in season two of this series.
At the show’s Netflix FYC Emmy panel, executive producer and director Barry Sonnenfeld was able to announce multiple guests stars for the upcoming season. They are shooting it now and it’s due to be released early next year. The announcements include the following:
Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog alum Nathan Fillion as Jaque Snicket, Lemony’s brother. (Lemony is played by Patrick Warburton, our reluctant narrator.)
Veep’s Tony Hale as Jerome Squalor
Hot Fuzz star Lucy Punch as Esme Squalor (and possible love interest to Neil Patrick Harris’ Count Olaf).
Sara Rue, (recently starring on Bones), who has a character arc throughout the season. She starts off as a librarian and perhaps goes on to better things, as Sonnenfeld put it.
Roger Bart, a Broadway vet who starred in The Producers on stage and screen. He will play Vice Principal Nero in the Austere Academy episodes, which they recently shot.
As star Neil Patrick Harris noted during the panel, Netflix is “ridiculous” when it comes to spoilers. So the fact that we’re getting these tidbits is pretty exciting. It’s a real murderer’s row of nerdy faves, a phrase which here means exceptionally talented actors and actresses, not actual murderers. That we know of.
A Series of Unfortunate Events is set to premiere early in 2018.
