We have our second live action Star Wars series on the way! Announced today by Lucasfilm and Disney on StarWars.com, Rogue One character Cassian Andor will be getting his own dedicated series. The even better news? Diego Luna will be returning to reprise the role! Here’s what we know.

The series will follow the Rebellion character before the events of the prequel film. Which, of course it will. It will tell tales of espionage and daring missions in a spy-thriller type show. Production will start on the series next year and will debut on the streaming service, known as Disney+, plans on launching. Luna expressed his excitement in returning to the character.

“Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me,” Luna said. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”

There’s no word on whether or not K2SO will be returning or not but we riot if he doesn’t, right? This is a real surprise – I hadn’t even considered returning to these characters outside of novels and comics. I’m actually looking forward to this. It will be exciting to see more of the Rebellion and how it works on the inside. I really enjoyed the character and it will be great to spend more time with him.
