The Case for Idris Elba to be the 13th Doctor

I know that the rumor mill says Idris Elba is the next James Bond, and that would be very nice and all, but I’d rather see him piloting the TARDIS than an Aston Martin.

We’ve gotten used to seeing Idris Elba in space, thanks to the Thor movies. When he returns as Heimdall in Thor: Ragnarok, he’ll apparently have more to do. (Warning: possible spoilers if you click here.)

We know him to be a capable problem solver, thanks to Luther.

We know he has some comic chops thanks, in part, to his stint on the U.S. version of The Office.

The fact that he’s an international heartthrob probably wouldn’t hurt, either.

I kind of feel like I don’t need to push my case for him over Kris Marshall too hard, because if anyone were choosing between them for a part… I think you know what I mean. (Sorry, Kris.)
