{BEWARE:  STRANGER THINGS 2 SPOILERS}

Production is gearing up on Netflix’s Stranger Things season three, and it’s already got some new faces.  Deadline reported Wednesday that Cary Elwes and Jake Busey have been added to the cast as guest stars for the smash hit’s third season.

Carey Elwes will be playing Mayor Kline, “handsome, slick and sleazy… your classic 80s politician — more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.” And, Jake Busey will be filling the role of Bruce.  Bruce is a journalist for the Hawkins Post, who is described as having “questionable morals and a sick sense of humor.”

These are both exciting additions to Stranger Things and Hawkins, Indiana as the world of the show grows.  But, I have a feeling that we won’t be able to count on Busey and Elwes sticking around.  They’re listed as guest stars, which means that their stint on the show is finite by design.  And, we all know what happened to poor Sean Astin.

But, even if we expect these new characters to perish, anybody who’s a fan of the show has got to be excited about this news.  As they say, it’s not about the destination so much as the journey.  I can’t wait to see where this new season takes us!

There is no word on a release date for Stranger Things 3.  We will keep you updated!  What do you think of the news?
