She’s the strongest hero in the MCU and she may be even more powerful than we think. Thanks to an interview with ET, star Samuel L. Jackson let fans know that Captain Marvel may be altering the heroine’s power set just a little bit. Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) may in fact be able to time travel. Yes you heard that right – she’ll have the ability to travel through time. But how?!
First, let’s hear what Jackson had to say about his new superhero bff. “She’s pretty much the strongest character — in terms of someone with powers are able to do things — in the Marvel universe… I mean, [the Avengers] are up against some really, really tough odds right now — we saw throughout Infinity War — so now we know that we need something that’s as powerful as Thanos. And at some point, we’ll find out how powerful she is and all the things that she’s capable of. She’s one of the few people in the Marvel universe that can time travel, so…” Incredible! But we have to take it with a grain of salt, given that he says “one of the few people”. So he may be confusing her abilities with something else. But if he’s not, we just opened up a can of worms.

Rumors of time travel have been making their way around the internet before the Avengers: Endgame trailer landed. One of the popular theories includes a number of the Avengers going back in time to try to defeat Thanos before the Snappening/Snapture. So having Captain Marvel step up to the plate and assist them with that would be a very interesting way to introduce the character to the remaining team members. Honestly I’d rather see her show up to his retirement planet and kick his a** around it for 3 hours but we won’t be getting that. However, if she has the ability to time travel, the question arises – why didn’t she show up sooner? If she knew that half of the universe was going to be wiped out of existence, would she have come to the Avengers aid on Wakanda? Maybe even Titan? Will her time traveling abilities be more important in her solo film? Time will tell…
What do you think about Carol Danvers being able to time travel? Are you on board or are you clutching your pearls? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more MCU news.
