It’s getting more and more exciting as news come out regarding Captain Marvel. Today THR reported that the film has hired composer Pinar Toprak to work on the film. She will be the first female composer brought on by the MCU and she’s most welcome. More news like this, please!
Toprak made the announcement on Instagram stating, “It’s an incredible honor to be a part of the Marvel Universe. So many thoughts racing through my head. And the main one is gratitude.” Her credits include scores for SyFy’s Krypton and the massively popular Fortnite. She joins a heavy female production with one half of the directing team, 6 female writers on the screenplay, and of course Brie Larson starring.
And you want to talk about girl power? Larson also recently revealed that Captain Marvel is so strong that she can move planets. She can move planets! Toprak has a task ahead of her if she’s composing themes about Carol Danvers moving planets. But it’s an exciting time to be a female or female-identitfying fan of superheroines because our time is now!
What do you think of the news? Are you looking forward to hearing Toprak’s work? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more Marvel news. Captain Marvel is set to fly into theaters March 8, 2019.
