The original cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is returning for a brand-new audio series! Entertainment Weekly broke the news today – read on to find out what we know about the project so far.
Two decades after the finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, many of the stars will return for a new story. Audible’s Slayers: A Buffyverse Story takes place 20 years after the final episode. Returning stars include James Marsters as Spike and Charisma Carpenter as Cordelia Chase. They’ll appear along with Anthony Head, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield, Amber Benson and Danny Strong. Also joining the cast is newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes.

Slayers: A Buffyverse Story follows Spike (Marsters) as he’s undercover in Los Angeles, attempting to convince the forces of darkness that he’s back to his evil ways. But when 16-year-old Indira Nunnally (Hayes) blows his cover, he once again finds himself babysitting a Slayer. While trying to find a new Watcher, he ends up crossing paths with a Slayer from a parallel reality, one where Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) never existed. The new Slayer is the one and only Cordelia Chase, and she needs Spike’s help facing down her own big bad – Drusilla (Landau).
When Entertainment Weekly spoke with Marsters about the project, he said “I’m ecstatic to be back with my dear friends for this next chapter in the Buffyverse, as we take listeners on a familiar but unexpected journey chock full of horror, passion and mischief…I’m excited for old and new fans to experience this beloved world of vampire slaying like never before, brought to life through immersive audio storytelling.”
