Fellow members of the ton, the official trailer for season two of Bridgerton has finally arrived. I suggest taking a seat as those watching it might be prone to swooning. Netflix’s second season of the regency romance drama based on the novels by Julia Quinn follows the Viscount himself, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey). He is on a path to do his family duty by finding a wife, producing heirs and continuing to run things. To help in this endeavor, he has developed a list of attributes his new wife should have. It’s a pretty long list, but it doesn’t include falling in love.

Season two of Bridgerton comes to us from the pages of The Viscount Who Loved Me and the trailer is full of moments from the book I have been manifesting to see on the screen. The trailer kicks off with Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews) talking about rising above our challenges. And one such challenge kicks off when Lady Violet (Ruth Gemmell) announces that Anthony is searching for a wife. Good going, mom! Throw our boy out there!

Things heat up rather quickly as we watch Anthony navigate the marriage market and it seems like he has decided that newly returned Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) will make a good wife. But, as the lovely Benedict (Luke Thompson) points out, to win over Edwina, Anthony will need to win over her sister Kate (Simone Ashley). The trailer continues with lots of longing stares, almost touches (that Mr. Darcy hand flex!) and some pretty fiery scenes that slowly uncover that maybe Anthony is going after the wrong sister.

But it isn’t all swooning in this Bridgerton trailer. We also get the chance to see the heated tension between Anthony and Kate. I’ve shared before how much I love the banter between these two and it seems that Bailey and Ashley are on the road to bringing that to life. Plus, we get more Newton. And not just adorable Newton. But sassy Newton, who stood in the perfect place and tripped that silly Viscount right into the lake.

The Bridgerton trailer also gives us a look at the other siblings like Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Colin (Luke Newton), who are each dealing with their own issues that I am sure we will see more of this season. Also, we want to know how anyone will survive that game of mallet ball. Seriously, we know our lovely Bridgertons can be very competitive. And finally, as the trailer comes to a close, we catch Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) deciding what is to be done with Lady Whistledown. It makes us worry for Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) this season!

Season two of Bridgerton returns to Netflix on March 25, 2022. If you haven’t watched season one, what are you waiting for? You still have time to binge it here! We’ve dropped the trailer below for your enjoyment! What do you think so far? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
