If you thought that World of Warcraft Classic wasn’t going to have players fighting their way through the Dark Portal into Outland, you were wrong. During BlizzConline this weekend, Blizzard Entertainment revealed that Burning Crusade Classic is on its way. True to the feel of Classic, this will be an authentic recreation of the MMORPG‘s (massive multiplayer online role-playing game) first expansion.

Burning Crusade Classic brings with it all of the features of the 2007 original. We will be given a chance to explore Outland once more. From the crags and spires of Blade’s Edge Mountains to the floating islands of Nagrand, we will get to relive our first experiences in this corrupted world. And once we hit max level, we will be able to experience the world from the skies! World of Warcraft Classic will also be getting the addition of two new playable races – the Draenei for the Alliance and Blood Elves for the Horde.

We will see the addition of PvP (player versus player) content in Burning Crusade Classic. We will get the chance to go head to head in 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5 combat in both the Ring of Trials and Circle of Blood. Now is the time to test our skills against other classes and see who reigns the victor. There is quite a bit of PvE (player versus environment) content to enjoy. We will relive the Outland continent-themed dungeons and team-up with fellow adventurers to complete raids leading up to the battle at the infamous Black Temple. The real question is, are you prepared?

For those of us who aren’t quite ready to leave World of Warcraft Classic, you won’t have to. Before entering the Dark Portal, we will be given a choice for all of their current characters. We can progress through or stay back on Azeroth. With the addition of Classic Era servers, players will be able to stay in the current content of Classic and continue to enjoy the end-game without progressing forward. Blizzard has announced that they will allow cloning characters through an optional paid service. This will allow us to experience the best of both worlds. Blizzard is also offering an optional (and at a cost) level-58 character boost. There is one per account, can not be used on a character residing on a Classic Era realm and cannot be used on the new Blood Elf and Draenei races.

Burning Crusade Classic will launch on PC through Battle.Net later this year. It is availble with any World of Warcraft subscription. Relive the nostalgia with the launch trailer below! What class are you taking through the Dark Portal? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
