Still of Florence Pugh and Scarlett Johansson in Marvel's Black Widow.

During Super Bowl LIV we got a new short peek at the upcoming Marvel Black Widow movie. Following in the steps of the the first Black Widow trailer, this one strives to drive home the idea that Natasha (Scarlett Johansson) had a family prior to the Avengers initiative. The short trailer showed previously seen action clips and the small peek at enemy Taskmaster. What really caught our eyes though, was the tender moment she shared with Yelena (Florence Pugh), Alexei (David Harbour), and Melina (Rachel Weisz).

We are finally getting a chance to see the backstory for one of Marvel’s strongest female characters. It will be very interesting to see how they handle her very touchy backstory with her upbringing and the horrors she and her sisters experienced. The trailer also leads us to believe that Natasha, Yelena, and Melina are not the only assassins from the red room we will be seeing.

The trailer was not the only new Black Widow content we received tonight. A set of four posters was released showcasing the main cast. In all four posters, the characters are striking the same pose, looking back over their shoulder. Except in hers, Natasha is looking directly at the camera.  All posters have the signature red and black theme.

We still have a few months until the final release, but each of these trailers so far has us on the edge of our seats.

Black Widow comes out May 1, 2020.
