We’re so close to May we can almost taste it! As reported by Entertainment Weekly, makeup artist Deborah La Mia Denaver shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the Black Widow set on Thursday.
Now, the picture may not seem like much, but it sports Scarlett Johansson in her new suit and in the midst of an action sequence. Just imagine the possibilities with that blue screen! Denaver posted an accompanying caption to her Instagram image: “Black Widow BTS! Getting closer … keeping us all on the edge of our seats.”
Black Widow has suffered several setbacks since last year. Initially slated for a May 2020 release, the highly anticipated Marvel flick was incessantly postponed due to the ensuing Coronavirus pandemic. However, its current premiere date appears to be solidified. We think. We hope!

The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, Ray Winstone and Rachel Weisz. It follows Natasha Romanoff as she embarks on a solo mission that takes place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Natasha is returning home, so we’ll definitely see remnants of her origin story and how she came to be the badass superhero we know today. She’s going to reconnect with her former “family.” Pugh is Yelena Belova, Harbour is Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Weisz is Melina Vostokoff with Fagbenle as Mason and Winstone as Dreykov. Black Widow‘s story is by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson with the screenplay penned by Eric Pearson. Cate Shortland serves as director.
