Black Widow fans, the wait has been long and equally arduous. It feels like we’ve been waiting for the highly anticipated solo film featuring our titular Avenger for an eternity. Perhaps longer. However, we’re almost at the finish line. On Tuesday, Marvel unveiled the latest premiere date for Black Widow on their social media accounts along with a sleek new poster.

Now, COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on the entertainment industry, namely release dates for massive tentpole films in the comic book realm. Studios want to ensure they’re getting the most bang for their buck while pertaining to health and safety guidelines. Black Widow has been in a constant state of postponement since May of 2020. Thankfully (or hopefully), that’s all about to change.

In addition to the newly scheduled debut, we learned that the flick will concurrently premiere on mega streamer Disney Plus via Premier Access. Other Disney properties such as last year’s Mulan and this year’s Raya and the Last Dragon have also gone this route. While Premier Access does cost you extra money, you’ll get to watch from the comfort of your own home.

Here’s a brief synopsis for Black Widow courtesy of Marvel

Natasha Romanoff confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger

Scarlett Johansson is reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff. Florence Pugh also stars as Yelena Belova with David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, O-T Fagbenle as Mason, Ray Winstone as Dreykov and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff rounding out the cast. Cate Shortland is at the helm as director. Eric Pearson penned the script from a story by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson

You can check out the new poster below. Black Widow will soar into theaters and Disney Plus on Friday, July 9.
