Black Knight WEBTOON series and Netflix adaptation.

Another collaboration between WEBTOON and Netflix is dropping later this week, and we couldn’t be more excited to dive in. The upcoming sci-fi action series Black Knight comes from the incredible mind of Lee YunGyun. The upcoming Netflix series is a live-action adaptation starring Kim Woo-Bin, Song Seung-heon, Kang You-seok and Esom. Alongside YunGyun are creators Cho Ui-seok, Shin Yeon-ju and Kim Hyun-deok. Bookmark it here so you don’t miss it.

Black Knight follows Sawol, born into a world devastated by air pollution and a severe social divide between residents and refugees. As if this wasn’t bad enough, she watched her mother and adopted family dies at the hands of the police simply for being refugees. Thus begins a deep seeded rage and fear of the police. As a means to liberate herself, she must become a delivery agent. But can she beat the odds stacked against her?

The webseries was initially released under the name Taekbaegisa (Delivery Knight) between 2017-2019 before making the exclusive move to WEBTOON. The series is packed with incredible story-building, action and suspense that we expect in our sci-fi dramas. It will be interesting to see how the Netflix adaptation adjusts for live-action and a different story format. We highly suggest watching the show and reading the series for that dual epic experience.

To help celebrate the new show, WEBTOON has released the first three episodes of YunGyun’s WEBTOON on their platform. The following five are available through Fast Pass, with a new free episode releasing every Monday. If you haven’t had the chance, read it here! Also, check out the trailer for the Netflix adaptation that hits the streaming service on May 12, 2023. Are you excited? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
