Let’s get down to the basics. BLACK BOX LSS – The Shining Immortal is a visual novel with a well-crafted, unique gaming experience. It is a horror-visual novel that reminds me of a cross between Doki Doki Literature Club! regarding the gameplay style/twists and Danganronpa‘s mixed media elements.

Why Should I Play?
Why should you play BLACK BOX LSS – The Shining Immortal? I love a good visual novel, and this hits all the right beats. Even without the horror elements, the story and pacing are captivating. I fell hard for the art style and amazing soundtrack, so extending my spooky season was a bonus.
Be prepared to spend a dedicated amount of time with the game, as completing one of the branching narratives through to the end takes at least an hour. The character design and dialogue make it time well spent. Everything from the variety of content and length of gameplay is exceptional, especially for a free-to-play game.
