Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) released a teaser trailer to give fans a little sneak peak at the film. Unfortunately for us poor unfortunate souls not seeing IT: Chapter 2 this weekend, we will be unable to see it. According to Variety, Warner Bros decided to release the teaser alongside their latest release in order to get fans into the theater. However, the teaser leaked online so we know what happens in the 30 seconds fans were gifted.

It starts with red balloons floating around the screen with a figure approaching. Is that Pennywise? Wait, since when did he have pigtails? Just kidding – it’s Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie)! She smashes two balloons with her mallet. “I’m so f**king over clowns,” she admits to the camera before smirking. We then get flashes of each member of the Birds of Prey. Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) speeds through the streets of Gotham on a motorcycle. We also see her attacking an unseen enemy with her crossbow seemingly in a sewer. Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) fights some baddies in a back alley and performs on a club stage. Who’s club? Well it looks to be our antagonist Black Mask’s (Ewan McGregor) club because he’s cheering in front of her. We also get to see Harley fighting some masked goons in a fun house, tossing her mallet at one of their heads. Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) and Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) team up with Black Canary to kick even more butt. Then finally we see Harley in a car eating a burger and winking at the camera. The kicker? It looks like her hyenas are next to her!

I really wish this teaser would be officially released online – it’s so much fun. Maybe we’ll be getting a full length trailer soon since the film comes out in February. So far I’m looking forward to the film. The cast is great and the premise is pretty awesome. I mean a team of butt kicking women teaming up and taking out the baddies of Gotham? Sign me up for that, always. I’m also really looking forward to Bud and Lou! They might be renamed in the film but Harley’s hyenas are iconic. I can’t wait to see what they do with them.

Tell us what you’re most looking forward to in Birds of Prey! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more DC fun.
