In the new trailer for Birds of Prey (and The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) has arrived and we’re anticipating it more than ever. In this trailer we learn a little bit more about the story, including why all the girls need to team up together to take down Black Mask (Ewan McGregor). Who’s ready for the Gotham City Sirens?
First, Harley’s (Margot Robbie) going through a rough time. She’s recently broken up with the Joker… by ramming a gas truck into Ace Chemicals, blowing the facility to smithereens. However, she very quickly learns that when she’s not under Joker’s “protection”, a whole lot of Gotham’s underbelly wants her dead. Most notably is Black Mask, who is actually taking revenge on all of the women for one reason or another. Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) murdered his best friend. Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) betrayed him. Cassandra Cain (Rosie Perez) robbed him and Renee Montoya (Ella Jay Basco) is trying to build a case against him. With goons after all of them, their best chance of survival is to team up with one another.

There’s a lot of stand out moments in this trailer. From Harley’s insane fight scenes, to seeing that Black Canary will have her super sonic scream, to Harley’s pet hyena being named Bruce (after Bruce Wayne). This film looks like it’s going to be a TON of fun. With all these kick-ass women involved, I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
