While it’s over a year away, we can still be excited about Star Wars: Episode IX, right? Of course we can! Especially when we get news like this from people involved in the film. Actress Billie Lourd spoke briefly with ET Online about her experience on the film and spoke of it with high praise.

“I gotta watch myself because the Star Wars PD is going to come get me, but it is incredible,” Lourd told the website. “I’ve read the script and I’ve been on set. I was on set for, like, three weeks back in September, and it is going to be magical.” Fans will know that Lourd plays Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix, a member of the Resistance, so her return is not surprising. Lourd continued, “I can’t say much more, but I’m so excited about it and so grateful to be a part of it. Star Wars is my heart. I love it.”

As the daughter of the late and great Carrie Fisher, it’s a big sigh of relief to hear. As we learned with the announcement of JJ Abrams once again taking the mantle, Fisher will be included in Episode IX. How? With a blessing from Lourd, they’re going to be somehow able to conclude the Princess turned General’s story with unseen footage shot during The Force Awakens. And given that Lourd feels impulsed enough to say that the script and film will be magical, one can feel hope that the story will end on a satisfying note. At least with Leia that is. And maybe, just maybe, give both Lourd and all of Fisher’s fans, a smile for the fitting tribute.

What do you think of Billie’s comments? Are you relieved, worried, or not concerned? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more Star Wars news. We will see Billie Lourd again with her mother in Star Wars: Episode IX, set to debut in theaters December 20th, 2019.
