Good news, my dudes! Bill & Ted Face the Music has now moved up a full week! The new release date comes after a slew of other anticipated films have either been delayed indefinitely or postponed to a later time. Thankfully, we’ll now get to watch the sequel to end all sequels earlier than expected!
Star Alex Winter made the announcement on his Twitter account Thursday regarding the move. Additionally, he mentioned the new release date. Bill & Ted Face the Music will be on demand and in select theaters in the United States. International dates will hopefully be announced soon.
Winter also shared a brief clip containing certain segments from the official trailer. We see older shots of Winter as Bill and Keanu Reeves as Ted sprinkled throughout said clip. Even Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving made an appearance. Weaving hailed the film as “heartwarming” and Lundy-Paine asserted that audiences will go crazy over it. Weaving portrays Bill’s daughter Thea and Lundy-Paine plays Ted’s daughter Billie, respectively.
Now, I believe this was a prudent choice on the film’s part. Why not gift audiences with an early release date while they’re still stuck in quarantine? Having the movie on demand will probably rake in more sales than theater tickets, as most theaters are still closed.
You can read Winter’s tweet and watch the clip below. Bill & Ted Face the Music stars Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves, Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine, and William Sadler. Audiences everywhere can rock out with their favorite dudes on Friday, August 28th.
