According to an article from The Hollywood Reporter, The WB will finally co-credit Batman co-creator, Bill Finger on their properties moving forward. This includes Fox’s hit series, Gotham, as well as Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

In a statement released to THR, DC said,

DC Entertainment and the family of Bill Finger are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement that recognizes Mr. Finger’s significant contributions to the Batman family of characters.  “Bill Finger was instrumental in developing many of the key creative elements that enrich the Batman universe, and we look forward to building on our acknowledgement of his significant role in DC Comics’ history,” stated Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment.  “As part of our acknowledgement of those contributions,” Nelson continued, “we are pleased to confirm today that Bill Finger will be receiving credit in the Warner Bros. television series Gotham beginning later this season, and in the forthcoming motion picture Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

But just who is Bill Finger?

He was the original writer on Batman and, though Bob Kane had the initial spark of an idea for the character, it was Finger who named him Bruce Wayne, named the city Gotham, put him in a cowl instead of a mask and made him a scientifically minded detective instead of just a gritty street vigilante. Even more than that, without Finger we wouldn’t have Robin, Catwoman or The Joker.

Imagine Batman without ANY of those things.

In his autobiography, Bob Kane said of Finger that he was “a contributing force on Batman right from the beginning… I made Batman a superhero-vigilante when I first created him. Bill turned him into a scientific detective.”

So, yeah, it sounds like it’s about time that Bill Finger get the credit he deserves.
