Assuming that you are not as into pink eye as BBT’s writers, I’ll spare you the details. Suffice it to say that Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette’s (Melissa Rauch) kids infect their parents, Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar), but not Penny (Kaley Cuoco). After stress related to this happening a week before the big ShAmy wedding, they get a diagnosis and treatment and all will be well. In the meantime, there’s a lot of gross stage makeup.
Elsewhere, Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) mother declares that she will not attend the wedding if he doesn’t invite his brother. The two boys haven’t spoken in 10 years, and Sheldon remembers his big brother as a relentless bully. Under pressure from mom Cooper, though, Sheldon drags Leonard (Johnny Galecki) to Texas to try to convince “Georgie” (Jerry O’Connell) to come.
Georgie is the tire king of the region– or rather, the tire Doctor– and he is unmoved by Sheldon’s typically Sheldon approach to extending an invitation.
Leonard manages to play mediator, visiting George alone to plead with him to come, and learning about all the sacrifices he’d made for the sake of Sheldon’s education and how much energy he’d put into protecting his brother without ever receiving any kind of thanks.
Leonard, having been on the receiving end of Sheldon’s myopic social skills for more than a decade, recognizes the truth in what George is saying and brings him to Sheldon to get the apology he deserves. In the resulting exchange, George opens Sheldon’s eyes to how much protection he’s received from his entire family his entire life, and Sheldon does indeed apologize for his bad behavior.
What that means is that the whole Cooper clan will be in Pasadena for the wedding next week, along with myriad other guest stars– including Mark Hamill!
