Sorry, Big Bang Theory. If you’re gonna keep running new episodes against geek-culture film openings, I’m gonna keep recapping late. Tonight I feel like you’re lucky I even watched “The Celebration Reverbration,” because STAR WARS. Come on, Chuck Lorre! If you can mention The Last Jedi in the script, you should be able to get CBS to delay a week.

Anyway, it’s Amy’s (Mayim Bialik) birthday. Instead of just getting her annual birthday coitus from Sheldon (Jim Parsons), he surprises her by making an authentic “Little House on the Prairie” meal from scratch.

The ensuing food poisoning (temporarily) derails the coitus, but everything comes right in the end.

Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Howard (Simon Helberg) are still at odds when the episode opens, and it’s hard on everyone. Howard doesn’t really learn any lessons from Raj’s determination not to be teased anymore, but when bedridden Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) insists on a first birthday party for baby Halley, Howard turns to Raj for a party planning save. For Halley’s sake, Raj agrees.

Once the party is set up, but before any guests arrive, the two take their frustrations out on each other in the bounce house. This quickly escalates to a literal shoving match, and the bounce-tactic effects of being shoved down remind them why they like each other. By the time their friends arrive, they’re on the path to normalcy.

My favorite storyline in this episode is Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) realizing how boring they have become after receiving Leonard’s brother’s annual Christmas letter. They can’t get beyond two mediocre items when they try making a list of all the things they’ve done in the last year. Hopefully, this is setting up some movement for them, because they’re totally right that they’ve gotten boring!

Stuart (Kevin Sussman) was also in this episode.

And Star Wars was fun! May the force be with you, if you made it this far!
