In 2000, the world was introduced to the CSI franchise when CSI: Crime Scene Investigation premiered. It was shortly followed by CSI: Miami in 2002 and CSI: NY in 2004. When most of the shows ended, CSI: Cyber reminded people why the franchise was loved so much in 2015. And fans were surprised by a CSI: Crime Scene Investigation reboot in 2021, CSI: Vegas, bringing back some beloved characters and introducing new ones.
The good news for those who miss the CSI universe or their favorite characters is that the franchise never ends, as fans can revisit this world in the CSI novels. The CSI: Crime Scene Investigation novels came out for the first time in 2001, CSI: Miami in 2003, and CSI: NY in 2005. These novels were written by various authors who kept bringing these well-known characters to life.
Here are six of the best CSI novels from the different worlds this franchise created.

CSI: Miami: Right to Die by Jeff Mariotte

The CSI detectives are usually known for seeing beyond what the scene presents and going deeper with the evidence. That is exactly what Miami’s crime scene investigators do in CSI: Miami: Right to Die. When a young man is killed, and cocaine is found on him, everyone believes it is gang-related. However, the detectives take a closer look and begin to suspect otherwise.
At the same time, everyone’s favorite lieutenant, Horatio Caine, is after a serial bomber whom the FBI has been chasing for many years. When a bomb goes off in Miami, killing a doctor and his family, the detectives wonder if the same bomber is behind this tragedy. There is a change in pattern, but the evidence may take them to him in the end.
