south coast repertory siegel

Whether you know Ben Feldman as Ginsberg, the unbalanced ad man who gave Peggy his nipple in a box on Mad Men, Fred, the guardian angel on Drop Dead Diva or from his current gig on NBC’s Superstore, you can get to know him in a new, in-person way starting this Friday at South Coast Repertory Theatre in Orange County. Feldman will be sharing the spotlight with Mamie Gummer, Meryl Streep‘s talented daughter (who I thought was the bright spot in the movie Ricki and the Flash) in in the world premiere of Michael Mitnick‘s play The Siegel, part of SCR’s Pacific Playwrights Festival.

Mitnick, who was recently writing on Vinyl for HBO, says, “I wanted to write a Kaufman and Hart play about millennials.”

SCR says he’s reframed “classic questions about love, choice and consequences, and how they play out in the age of Twitter and Tinder.”

I say, “Maybe Meryl Streep will be there, sitting with Elizabeth Moss, and we will all become friends.” (It could happen.)
