DC and Warner Bros. are not the only ones with a big comic book project hitting screens in March — there’s also the second season of Daredevil from Marvel, hitting Netflix this Friday, March 18th.

And can we all just thank the Maker that Jon Bernthal is both very proud of his work and a huge fan of his character, Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher. If he were not, we would not have this epic behind-the-scenes look at his work on set with a giant rifle pulled up to his shoulder and aimed at … well, a bad guy, presumably.

Bernthal posted to his Instagram a video of him taking some shots as well as a picture of him as he fires off his rifle. It’s not clear here who he’s shooting at, though we’d imagine it’s a mobster who is somewhat implicated in the death of his family. But maybe it’s Daredevil? Or Elektra (Elodie Yung)? Or maybe he’s working with Daredevil to take down The Hand?

Our guess is still mobster.

But, the most important thing is just how flipping good Bernthal looks at The Punisher. That stern, humorless look in his eyes, the form, the texture — everything. In the way that Ryan Reynolds was born to be Deadpool, it appears that Jon Bernthal was born to play Frank Castle. That picture looks like it’s straight out of a comic book!

We’d also like to point out that he appears to have the infamous Punisher skull on his shirt.

Bang.

One batch. Two batch. Penny and dime.
