It’s Showtime
After 36 years, we’re finally reuniting with the Ghost with the Most. And babes, it’s looking like a pretty macabre, twisted and downright fun reunion.
Warner Bros. Pictures unveiled the official trailer for Tim Burton‘s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, featuring an all-star cast of faces familiar and new. Here’s a synopsis for the long-awaited sequel:
“After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic, and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says [a certain] name three times, and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.”

The Cast and Crew
In addition to Michael Keaton‘s return as the titular bio-exorcist, other cast members reprising their roles include Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz and Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz. Newcomers include Jenna Ortega as Lydia’s daughter Astrid, Monica Bellucci as Delores, Justin Theroux as Rory, Burn Gorman as Father Damien, Arthur Conti and Willem Dafoe as Wolf Jackson.
Tim Burton returns to helm the film, which has a screenplay by Wednesday‘s Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Gough, Millar and Seth Grahame-Smith wrote the story. Danny Elfman also returns as composer.

The Juice Is Loose
Admittedly, I’m usually wary about sequels unless a story warrants one. However, I’m so game for more play in this universe. This looks delightful, with gorgeous visuals to boot. Monica Bellucci is stunning. Danny DeVito makes a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in the trailer, too. Additionally, the narrative is original, with Charles’ death being the catalyst for what transpires.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will scare its way into theaters on September 6, 2024. Before you go, check out the new photos and official trailer below.
