Be More Chill fans rejoiced Tuesday at the announcement of the full Broadway cast from Playbill. It turns out, much to everyone’s delight, that the entire cast from the show’s Off-Broadway crew will be making the big Broadway move, which was confirmed back in September Originally a novel by Ned Vizzini published in 2004, Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz’s musical adaption follows an unpopular teenager and how his life makes a complete 180 when he takes a SQUIP (Super Quantum Unit Intel Processor) that makes him the most popular kid in school but with shocking consequences.
As already mentioned, the show’s entire and very talented Off-Broadway cast will be returning to the show when it opens in March. This includes Will Roland as Jeremy Heere; George Salazar as Michael Mell; Stephanie Hsu as Christine Canigula; Gerard Canonico as Rich Goranski; Katlyn Carlson as Chloe Valentine; Tiffany Mann as Jenna Rolan; Lauren Marcus as Brooke Lohst; Britton Smith as Jake Dillinger; Jason SweetTooth Williams as Mr. Heere – Mr. Reyes – Scary Stockboy; and Jason Tam as The Squip. The understudies are Cameron Bond (Squip, Jake, Mr. Heere, Mr. Reyes and Scary Stockboy), Anthony Chatmon II (Squip, Jake, Michael, Rich, Dance Captain), Morgan Siobhan Green (Christine, Brooke, Chloe, Jenna) Troy Iwata (Jeremy, Michael, Rich) Talia Suskauer (Christine, Brooke, Chloe, Jenna) and Joel Waggoner (Mr. Heere, Mr. Reyes and Scary Stockboy).
“We are absolutely thrilled that the entire New York premiere company will be making the journey with us to Broadway,” says Gerald Goehring, lead producer of Be More Chill to Playbill. “This company has collaborated to bring Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz’s beautiful and universal musical to life off-Broadway this summer and we could not have been more thrilled with the outpouring of love we received from our fans around the world. The entire company cannot wait to bring the production to an even greater audience at The Lyceum in the new year.”
And that’s that for now! Be More Chill will be making it’s first preview on February 13th 2019 and will open March 10th 2019. Get your tickets here!
