DC fans, we have finally gotten our first look at Warner Bros’ upcoming animated film Batman: The Long Halloween Part One. The two-part film adapts the highly popular and critically acclaimed series from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. The story takes place early in Batman’s career and centers around a killer known as Holiday, who plagues Gotham only once a month. This is the first animated film in which Jensen Ackles will be voicing the cape crusader!

Batman: The Long Halloween trailer was released exclusively through IGN and introduced that the story is rooted in a mysterious death. Batman is tasked with figuring out who is behind the murder on top of keeping Gotham safe. We get quick peeks at Joker (Troy Baker), Harvey Dent (Josh Duhamel), Catwoman (Naya Rivera) and so many more. It’s pretty clear that this two-part film isn’t going to be lacking in iconic Batman villains. The ultimate question posed in the end by James Gordon (Billy Burke) is who exactly is Holiday and Batman wants to know who is next.

Since this is just part one, I doubt we will figure out who Holiday is by the end. And if we have any ideas, I’m sure it will be in the form of a cliffhanger. But even knowing that, I can’t wait to see Batman: The Long Halloween. I love when the franchise dives into the investigative side of Batman. It will be interesting to see how they mix all of the villains and how their stories will come together and intertwine.

Batman: The Long Halloween stars Ackles, Baker, Duhamel, Rivera, Burke, Titus Welliver, David Dastmalchian, Amy Landecker, Julie Nathanson, Jack Quaid, Fred Tatasciore and Alastair Duncan.

It is set to release on digital and blu-ray on June 22, 2021. Check out the trailer below and let us know how excited you are to dive into this new Batman film!
