Wow. Alright, you nerds, get ready for your tear-jerker of the day.
Remember that little boy with Leukemia a couple years ago who wanted to be Batman, his favorite hero? And Make-a-Wish came in and turned the entire city of San Francisco into Gotham City? And then Batkid had to save everyone, defeating Penguin and Riddler, saving innocent citizens, all while running around with an adult Batman?
And this?
And this?
Remember all that?
Well this is a documentary about how all of that came together, who the little boy is, who his family is and what happened afterwards.
In a lot of ways, it’s about more than that though. It’s about who and what superheroes are, what they represent and how they play out in our lives. It’s about putting a magnifying glass on a particular moment and event to show us all the best of who we are and who we can be. In a world filled with so much tragedy and death and trouble, it’s good to be reminded that it’s not always that way and that we, as a species, are capable of wonderful good and true joy.
