Is Batman a myth? Because Batwoman isn’t. As Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) find out in the new Elseworlds promo for the upcoming CW crossover. It is also the first footage we are seeing of Ruby Rose as Batwoman.

To clarify, this is the Barry Allen that we know, but in Elseworlds, he’s Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow. If you haven’t heard by now, the two swap places in a reality rewrite. Barry is Oliver, and Oliver (Stephen Amell) is Barry Allen aka the Flash. The first two promos kind of showed us what that would look like. I’m sure it will make sense once the crossover airs.

Another promo featuring Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) imprisoned in the STAR Labs pipeline aired Sunday. And Monday we get this gem. Apparently the world doesn’t believe that Batman exists. But there is a Bat signal, so he has to exist right? Well, it doesn’t really matter because Batwoman appears in front of the Green Arrow (Gustin) and Cisco. And they are in awe of her!

There were rumors that Batman may appear and that Jensen Ackles would cameo a the cape crusader, but Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed that the Bats will not appear. According to EW.com, Guggenheim said questions about Batman will be addressed in the crossover, but Batman did exist at one point in the mythos of the Arrowverse. The topic comes up when the Arrowverse heroes go to Gotham City. And Gotham will look a little different than what fans are used to. Guggenheim told EW.com “It’s a dead city.  The way I sort of described it to Stephen is, it’s there but for the grace of God goes Star City. It’s the worst case scenario. The reason no one talks about Gotham is the city might as well be dead. It’s practically a ghost town.”

As for how the heroes feel about Batman? Well, that’s kind of funny. Amell told EW, “Oliver is not enthused about the idea that there might be some other vigilante out there.” So he basically doesn’t believe in Batman. Barry on the other hand, “…all he wants to do in Gotham is meet Batman.” I’m excited to see their reactions to Batwoman and what she can do.

It’s only two weeks away! Get excited and watch the Batwoman promo below

The CW Crossover Elseworlds begins Sunday, Dec. 9, with The Flash; continues Monday, Dec. 10 with Arrow; and concludes on Tuesday night with Supergirl.
